How Scarlet Nexus Uses RPG Elements Alongside Action

-
In Scarlet Nexus – Bandai Namco’s anticipated title that is being developed for current-gen and next-gen consoles as well as PC – players will slay over-the-top monsters by combining sword attacks with extra-sensory powers in an insane SF “brain-punk” world. In IGN’s Gamescom preview, we called it a “ stylish, flashy, and edgy action-RPG ”. However, during IGN Japan’s Tokyo Game Show 2020 interview with producer Keita Iizuka and director Kenji Anabuki , we learned that there might be more to the RPG side of Scarlet Nexus than meets the eye. With Anabuki having worked on the Tales series for many years, this might not come as a surprise, and Iizuka says that while the game’s setting and battle system are completely new, he believes that Scarlet Nexus will be highly enjoyable for fans of the RPG genre. “Until now, we have mainly shown the game’s action parts, but of course there is also a rich story and you will be fighting along with other party members in typical RPG fashion.” [ign...

Get The Legend of Zelda Nintendo Game and Watch Ahead of the Holidays

-
If you missed out on Nintendo Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda Edition preorders, it's not too late. You can still get your hands on this absolutely delightful collectible from Nintendo, for yourself or as a gift for the holidays. In my Game & Watch: Legend of Zelda review , I pretty much gush over it the entire time. It's exactly the sort of collectible that appeals to me: it's not terribly expensive, it has cool and interesting features, and it just feels like a loving tribute rather than a cheap cash grab. Preorder the Nintendo Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda Edition As stated in the product description, the Nintendo Game & Watch Legend of Zelda edition includes the first two NES games, the Game Boy version of Link's Awakening, and a reimagined version of Vermin starring Link. You can also play "the English or Japanese versions" of the included games. There are some notable musical differences between the Japanese and English versi...

Scorn Release Date Moved Forward

-

Scorn, the upcoming H.R. Giger-inspired puzzle adventure, is coming out earlier than expected. The game will now be released on October 14 instead of October 21.

Coming to Xbox Series X/S and PC, no reason has been given for the move in date – but given how many delays we've had this year, it's a welcome bit of news.

Scorn promises to take players "into an isolated, strange, dream-like world. Left unguided to fend for themselves, players must explore Scorn’s interconnected bio-labyrinth, learning its rules and mastering grotesque puzzles along the way as they come to understand their own predicament."

We went hands-on with the first hour of the game recently, saying, "At its best, Scorn already feels like a deeply odd, deeply thoughtful approach to more open puzzling, perhaps most easily comparable to The Witness. Personally, that’s what I hope to see more of – but if you’re looking for a dose of real unpleasantness, it seems to have you covered there too."
