Boba Fett Will Join Fortnite In December

Image
Fortnite and Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett are having a crossover in December as Boba Fett himself, and possibly Fennec Shand, will be joining the Item Shop as outfits. As revealed by Fortnite's Twitter on Disney+ Day, we get an image of Boba Fett and Fennec Shand on what was once Jabba's Throne and has now been claimed by the iconic bounty hunter. The Tweet says, "Boba Fett will be making his arrival on the Island December 24, 2021 at 7pm ET! #DisneyPlusDay." While it doesn't specifically say that Shand will be joining as well, she appears prominently in the image with a Shield Potion and a potential Emote of the Mandalorian symbol of a Mythosaur. Also teased in the image is the Tusken Raider's Gaffi Stick, which will most likely join the Item Shop as a Pickaxe. This crossover will happen just a few days before Star Wars: The Book of Boba Fett premieres on Disney+ on December 29, 2021. It also follows the addition of The Mandalorian and Grogu to Fo...

Game & Watch: The Legend of Zelda Review

It will probably come as no surprise that the second of Nintendo's new modern Game & Watch systems is an absolute delight. I was quite taken by the Super Mario Bros. Game & Watch introduced last year, but The Legend of Zelda Game & Watch retains all the charm of the first while expanding on what made it so great in the first place – and the included games are arguably better than the ones on the Super Mario version. Whereas last year's Game & Watch included the original Super Mario Bros. and the Japanese-only Super Mario Bros. 2 (known as The Lost Levels in the US), the Zelda Game & Watch includes three games: The Legend of Zelda and The Legend of Zelda II for the NES, as well as The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening for the Game Boy. An extra game would have been more than enough to make me happy already, but Nintendo went a step further by making it so you can even play either the English or Japanese versions of the first two NES Zeldas, while Link...

WoW Brings Back Tier Sets, But the Community Is Divided

Activision Blizzard is currently facing serious ongoing allegations of harassment and mistreatment of marginalized workers . To learn more, please visit our timeline as well as our in-depth report on the subject . World of Warcraft has shared some details about the game's next major content update, which will conclude the current expansion: Shadowlands. The update includes the return of the much-desired class tier sets of armor, but despite a general community love for tier gear, some folks are less than thrilled. Tier gear has been a beloved WoW institution since the game first came out. For years, most major raids would reward players with unique, multi-piece sets of armor with cool designs, with one set tailored for each specific class. These would often have some of the best stats available at the time, and sometimes even really cool abilities or boosts tacked on if you were wearing multiple pieces. Also, if you had the full set, you could ride around Orgrimmar with f...

New World Governors Are Embezzling Gold, And No One Can Stop Them

"I never stole gold," says Stibs. "I took the gold out of the treasury of the company I co-owned at the time." Stibs has had his reputation tarnished. As a consul in wilderness MMO New World, he was one of the players responsible for handling money in his company, a group of players who band together to face the wilds. One day he took 15,000 gold coins from the shared pot, left the company, and signed up with another faction. He had his reasons. He's not the only one taking company cash. In the midst of a creaking economy , the aristocracy of New World are looking at the coin piled in their treasuries with an increasingly glittering eye. For some, the temptation proves too much. This game is set in a lush landscape of forest and fern, designed to be exploited by colonizing player conglomerates. But it's also a hard place to earn a living, which has led to a trend. Embezzlement. It's been happening from the earliest days of the game. In some cases...

Metroid Dread Sales Could Bode Well for the Future of the Series

Metroid: Dread's launch figures in the US have comfortably beaten records for the series, and could allude to a bright future for Samus after quite a dry spell. Data published by the NPD Group offered an insight into the popularity of Metroid: Dread after its successful October 8 launch on Nintendo Switch. Following its release, the game debuted as October's third best-selling game in the US. Despite being released over a week into that period, Metroid: Dread also came out as the highest-ranked selling game on the Nintendo Switch. In doing that, it achieved the highest ever launch month sales of any Metroid game to date - dwarfing its predecessors by some margin. According to the Group, Metroid: Dread's launch month dollar sales nearly doubled those of the series' previous record holder, Metroid: Prime. Metroid has been a quiet series for a long time. The last mainline 2D entry in the series was 2017 remake Samus Returns, with the last wholly original 2D entry arr...

The First iPhone with USB-C Sold for Over $86,000 on eBay

In October, Ken Pillonel, a robotics engineering student, uploaded a video showing how he created the very first iPhone with a USB-C port . A month later, Pillonel has sold the modified iPhone X on eBay for over $86,000 . The auction started out at $1 , but as the ten-day auction progressed, that number quickly soared from the thousands to hundreds of thousands. At one point on the final day of bidding, someone placed a bid of around $100,000 before retracting it. The winning bid came in as a sum of $86,001, beating the previous highest bidder by a dollar just minutes before the auction ended. Although the modified iPhone can support USB-C charging and data transfers when connected, Pillonel forewarned anyone who won the bid that they should not use the world's first USB-C iPhone as their primary smartphone. To ensure you do not risk breaking the device, Pillonel also warned the buyer not to update or open the phone up and take it apart. If you are bummed about not having a ...

Elden Ring Multiplayer Explained: Co-op, Invasions, and PvP Duels

The Elden Ring Closed Network Test has begun, and with it comes multiplayer in both cooperative and PvP competitive forms. Summoning and invasions has been a significant part of previous FromSoftware games, and that remains true for Elden Ring. If you’re familiar with the systems used in Dark Souls and Bloodborne then you’ll quickly get to grips with Elden Ring’s methods, but for those who aren’t, allow us to break down how multiplayer works in Elden Ring. After selecting your character and taking your first steps into Elden Ring’s open world, the game will alert you to the ability to play in multiplayer. Getting together with friends, randomers, or enemies all starts In the options menu, where you can select a bespoke multiplayer menu from which you choose exactly how you will play. For many people, co-operative play will be how they want to experience Elden Ring. This is done using a summoning system; one player is able to draw a sign on the ground, and another is able to use th...

GTA Trilogy Is Having a Rough Launch in Multiple Respects

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition only launched yesterday, but it's already seen a number of fan complaints, ranging from the quality of the remasters to not being able to play the PC version at all. While many have praised some of the visual upgrades (particularly to landscapes) on new-gen consoles, and appreciated the introduction of modern control schemes, there have been a number of issues raised with the quality of the new versions of the classic games. Here are the key factors right now: Quality Concerns To sum up much of the public response to the Definitive Editions, at time of writing, the top post on the 3 million user-strong r/Games subreddit is titled "Rockstar should be ashamed of the GTA Trilogy Remaster". The post, which has garnered 1,300 comments and counting, points out that Rockstar released almost no direct feed gameplay ahead of launch, mentions that reviews were not permitted pre-launch , and calls into question the choice ...

GTA Trilogy Pulled from Sale on PC, Rockstar Games Launcher Goes Down

Rockstar has pulled Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition from sale on PC, seemingly due to ongoing issues with its Rockstar Games Launcher service that render it unplayable. At time of writing, the PC version of the remastered GTA Trilogy is not available to buy on Rockstar's website . Those who did buy the game on PC are unable to play it, as the Rockstar Games Launcher – which is required to play the collection – has been offline for around 15 hours. Just a few hours after the release of the collection, Rockstar's support Twitter account explained, "Services for the Rockstar Games Launcher and supported titles are temporarily offline for maintenance. Services will return as soon as maintenance is completed." This means that GTA Trilogy, as well as games like GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 cannot be played on PC right now. 14 hours later, the account provided an update , saying only, "We thank you for your patience and understanding as w...

Battlefield 2042 Review in Progress

128 players simultaneously running into Battlefield 2042’s crowded warzones is a great example of why bigger can be better, but isn’t always. While chaotic gunfights are undoubtedly part of Battlefield’s charm, massive lobbies with that many players eventually became frustrating instead of fun – even in the limited time I was able to play during a three-day "virtual review event" held by EA earlier this week. Thankfully, its tense new Hazard Zone mode provides an interesting strategic alternative on a smaller scale, and its customizable Portal mode tools are an exciting glimpse at how its future could thrive. But 2042’s flashy, large-scale battles have left me wanting so far – but I have a ways to go before I'm ready to score it. To pull back the curtain on what reviewers had access to before launch, I was able to play about 12 hours of Battlefield 2042 spread across three days, meaning I couldn’t just queue into any mode I wanted and was restricted to what was availa...
