Best PS5 SSD 2022

Between Final Fantasy XVI , Resident Evil 4 Remake , and The Callisto Protocol , the PS5 is about to get a lot of good games, and if you want to keep them around for easy access, you're going to need an SSD to slot into your PS5. After all, the console comes with less than a terabyte of storage space. That's hardly enough for you to keep all your favorite games, let alone record video clips, take screenshots, and save other data. The good news is upgrading your PS5 storage has never been easier, thanks to the secondary M.2 SSD slot that lets you add a second SSD, similar to adding storage to your gaming PC . Luckily, the best PS5 SSDs are a big step over the days of using a slow external hard drive. Your secondary drive operates as fast as the PS5's primary storage, so loads and saves are quick, and transferring games takes mere moments. Of course, you need to buy a compatible SSD that fits and is fast enough, which means you need an NVMe PCIe 4.0 drive with 5,500MB/s

Assassin's Creed Valhalla Might Be Getting an Iron Man-Inspired Armor Set

Assassin's Creed Valhalla seems primed to introduce an armor set that references Iron Man. As spotted by Eurogamer , dataminer AndyReloads has found some sleek new armor hidden in the game’s files, which could be released in a future update. The Advanced Mechanicals Armor Set gives users the ability to use a chest-mounted energy beam, much the same as Iron Man’s unibeam. The set comes in two colorways, with the Copper edition very much looking like Iron Man's red and gold attire. A second Iron version is a sleek white take that looks more akin to a Star Wars Stormtrooper. Neither includes a specific reference to the movies in question, so these seem to be cheeky references rather than an official crossover. While wearing this new armor set, your Battle Cry ability is replaced with the unibeam – a forward-firing beam of energy that seemingly does area of effect and fire damage. Additionally, the Advanced Mechanicals Armor Set includes a few other bits and pieces: Gor

FIFA 23: Hands-On Preview

FIFA is back for another year, but jokes about the remarkable inevitability of gaming’s football simulation behemoth should be uttered in hushed tones. Not because EA doesn’t deserve flak for its piecemeal iteration, but because FIFA 23 will be the series’ last hurrah ahead of a shock branding change to EA Sports FC in 2023. The death of such a historic licensing deal creates a sombre atmosphere around this year’s game, but EA is determined to make the end of an era feel jubilant. With expanded crossplay, the addition of women’s club football and two FIFA World Cups in its release window, FIFA 23 plans to go out with a bang. Having spent a whole weekend with an in-progress build of the game, the revised take on gameplay feels appropriately theatrical. Final FIFA-ntasy FIFA 23’s most noticeable gameplay change arrives thanks to the addition of power shots, a new way to strike the ball achieved by holding both bumpers and pressing the shoot button. Like a Final Fantasy limit break,

MultiVersus Delay Not Caused by WB Discovery Merger

It’s no secret that MultiVersus has seen its official launch delayed, and with recent troubles at Warner Bros. Discovery, fans were concerned about the game being a part of that wider issue. But don’t worry – the Season 1 delay is nothing to do with the Warner Bros. Discovery merger. According to game director Tony Huynh, the MultiVersus delay has absolutely nothing to do with the ongoing disruption at Warner Bros. Discovery. “For those wondering, we are unaffected by the Discovery/Warner Bros. merger. #MultiVersus,” he said via Twitter . New footage from the Hogwarts Legacy, the prequel game set in the wizarding world of Harry Potter has been unveiled. Revealed during a tech talk at the Autodesk Vision Series , the footage shows off a new section of cutscene work, as well as a glimpse at the game’s character customization. The new cutscene footage sees two Hogwarts students secretly watching while a trio of dark wizards attack and restrain a hippogriff: New cinematic from #HogwartsLegacy pic.twitter.com/gKGaIYkXEm — Hogwarts Legacy News (@HogLegNews) August 3, 2022 The scene ends with the students splitting up, presumably to tackle the dark wizards while they’re occupied, with the player character tasked with reaching higher ground. An aerial attack, perhaps? It’s an extended version of a scene we saw during the recent State of Play back in March , which sees the player-character and friend, Natsai running through a huge gate. Alongside this impressive cutscene, the Autodesk talk also included a look at the

Upscaled Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Map Offers Closer Look at Paldea Region

During today's Pokemon Presents presentation , the Pokemon team revealed a full map of Paldea , the region where Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet are set. While the official map is slightly blurry, a fanmade upscaled version is now giving us a clearer look at the Paldea region. Today, IGN's own Ryan Quintal created an upscaled version of the map, revealing notable details of the region in a Twitter thread . Quintal pointed out how diverse the map is, making note of several desert regions, seaside towns, smaller, grassy towns, and mountainous cliffside locations. Find all the details of Quintal's map below: The Pokemon Company also revealed further details about Paldea on its website , stating that it's filled with "a variety of locations, ranging from a farming village with bountiful harvests to a port town with a bustling marketplace." Pokemon will also occupy every nook and cranny of Paldea's diverse terrain, living in "treetops, rivers,

Once Again, the Pokémon Community Is Memeing the Heck out of the Last Pokémon Presents

In today's Pokémon Presents, we got an extended look at Pokémon Scarlet and Violet which included new Pokémon, features, characters, and more. And, as it usually does when we see new Pokémon footage lately, social media immediately erupted with a flurry of incredible memes. First, let's get the thing you're really here to see out of the way: Fidough. A new Pokémon named Fidough was revealed today which is, deliciously, a dog made out of bread dough whose breath is apparently a very effective yeast. The internet has gone to town on this little guy, with reactions ranging from expressing deep love for the pure-bread pup to, disturbingly, wanting to cook and eat him. good morning pokémon fans let’s get this bread pic.twitter.com/OBcGFhDlQQ — Michal (@Miexriir) August 3, 2022 The Pokémon community now that fidough has been announced pic.twitter.com/EBapa90hXo — $harty (@SkylerOmg) August 3, 2022 Gamefreak office lunch break: Employee 1: “… my dog loves bread

First MultiVersus Season 1 Battle Pass Details Revealed

As MultiVersus enters its second week of open beta, its first official Season is on its way. Though we're just under a week away from Season 1's launch, fans still have plenty of questions regarding the Season 1 Battle Pass. Today, MultiVersus director Tony Huynh responded to a fan's Tweet with some details about the game's Season 1 Battle Pass. According to Huynh, the pass will cost 950 Gleamium — the game's paid currency — and offer 50 tiers. 1000 Gleamium is equivalent to roughly $9.99, meaning the Season 1 Battle Pass will cost a bit less than $10. I think it's 950 gleamium, but has 50 tiers. — Tony Huynh (@Tony_Huynh) August 2, 2022 Currently, the Preseason Battle Pass is running until August 8. It's much cheaper than the Season 1 Battle Pass at only 300 Gleamium, but it only has 15 tiers of character skins, profile icons, XP, coins, and cosmetics. While we don't know much else about the Season 1 Battle Pass, we do know that Season 1, w

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Multiplayer Images Leaked By... the LA Rams

Images of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer mode have been leaked through a very unlikely source – the LA Rams football team. LA Rams player Cameron Dicker revealed a glimpse of the upcoming Call of Duty game’s lobby screen, which he appeared to be playing at an event. “Having fun on the new @callofduty” he revealed in a now-deleted Instagram post (via Charlie Intel ). Pokémon Scarlet & Violet Will Have Three Story Campaigns, Which Can Be Taken on in Any Order

We already knew that Pokémon Scarlet & Violet would be fully open world, and could be explored in any order – but now we know the game will include three main story campaigns, including the usual gym battling route. Revealed in today's Pokémon Presents broadcast, we learned that journeys in the Paldea region will begin with your character joining a school (the Naranja Academy in Pokémon Scarlet, or the Uva Academy in Pokémon Violet). From there, you'll be given a "special independent study project, known only as 'The Treasure Hunt'. The Treasure Hunt will see you exploring Paldea, where "three grand stories" are on offer, and can be approached in any order. As you'd expect from the series, one of those stories revolves around becoming the region's best trainer, by beating the leaders of 8 Pokémon gyms. However, in the new games, there's no set path through those 8 gyms, meaning you can take them on in any order. In the latest gamepla

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet's Legendaries are Rideable (Because They're Living Bikes)

The legendary Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet are living vehicles that can transform into bikes, boats, and planes. As revealed in today's Pokémon Presents video, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will feature two new legendary Pokémon: Koraidon and Miraidon. All legendary Pokémon typically have interesting abilities, but the next game in the series is taking it one step further by making them mounts that can adapt to the many different terrains across the new Paldea region. Across the ground, Koraidon and Miraidon can act as a living bike for speedy cross-country travel. Hitting water will see them transform into a boat-like vehicle, while taking to the skies will see wings deploy. It seems like almost any kind of terrain won't be an issue for Koraidon and Miraidon, since the gameplay footage showed them climbing straight up sheer cliff faces as well as more normal grass fields and gentle waves. The official Pokémon website notes the three different travel modes, and they have d

Switch: Shortages Hurt Sales, But Nintendo Expects to Recover By the Holidays

Nintendo Switch shortages should get better by the end of the year, after supply constraints hurt Nintendo's hardware sales in the last quarter. The latest earnings report from Nintendo confirms that the ongoing chip shortage has been having an impact on sales, but the company reassured investors that it should be easier for fans to get their hands on a Switch by the holidays. “Due to delays in the procurement of components such as semiconductors this year, we have not been able to conduct production as planned,” confirmed Nintendo. “However, we expect procurement to gradually improve from late summer towards autumn, giving us a clearer outlook regarding production for the remaining calendar year.” According to the report, Nintendo's Q1 (April-June) Switch sales fell by 22.9% year-on-year, selling 3.43 million units. “Production was impacted by factors such as the global shortage of semiconductor components, resulting in a decrease in hardware shipments and subsequent d
