The official reveal of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 appears to be imminent as Infinity Ward's Twitter has gone dark. Furthermore, its header image appears to feature Ghost lurking in the shadows. If you head to Infinity Ward's Twitter, you will notice that its profile picture is all black, which companies have done before ahead of a big reveal. IW's header image also appears to be a black image, but you can see the faintest image if you look close enough. After IGN brightened up the image, it sure looks like fan-favorite Ghost is hiding in the dark waiting for his next move. You can see the brightened-up image below and compare it to Ghost and his iconic skull mask in light. Larian Studios has revealed that Baldur's Gate 3 will officially leave early access and be released in 2023. Larian shared the news during 2022's D&D Direct in a dev diary that was focused on "the journey so far." While it features some glimpses of the game, a tiefling cosplay, and a doctor who may or may not be a doctor, the big news from the video was the confirmation that Baldur's Gate 3 will not make it out of early access in 2022 and will instead officially be released in 2023. "By the Nine Hells, we've added a lot of great stuff already, and there's more where that came from," Larian said. "So, join us in early access on our journey to Baldur's Gate 3, or come along in 2023 when the game releases." In February, Larian Studios' head Swen Vincke said that 2022 would be the last full year of development, but he left some wriggle room as to if there was a chance it could make it before our calendars moved to 2023. 343 Industries has revealed its planned 2022 roadmap for Halo Infinite, and it includes a late August release window for the long-awaited campaign network co-op. All the details were revealed by Halo Infinite's head of creative Joseph Staten on Halo Waypoint, and while they are subject to change, they give a good picture as to what Halo Infinite fans can expect for the rest of the year. 343 also notes that the timeframe will "expand as we announce longer-term initiatives" and that the "roadmap is an evolving document." The roadmap begins by focusing on Season 2 "Lone Wolves", which will run from May 3 to November 7. We already knew that Season 2 would launch with a new 100 tier Battle Pass, two new maps in Catalyst (Arena) and Breaker (BTB) and three new game modes in King of the Hill, Land Grab, and Last Spartan Standing. Sony's new-look PlayStation Plus hasn't yet launched, but PlayStation fans may be getting a beloved cult classic as part of the membership. Spotted by Gematsu , the Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea issued ratings to four Syphon Filter games for both the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The games include the original Syphon Filter, Syphon Filter 2, Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, and Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow. This will likely be great news for fans of the third-person shooter that's become synonymous with the PlayStation brand. Unfortunately, not all the Syphon Filter games were rated by the committee. Syphon Filter 3 and Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain were not included, so it's unknown if they will be listed in PlayStation Plus as well. Techland has announced that Dying Light 2 officially sold over 5 million units in its first month. Furthermore, it was also revealed that the original Dying Light has crossed 20 million units since it was released in 2016. The news was shared in a press release and Techland also confirmed that the sales of Dying Light 2 are "significantly growing each month," although it gave no other details as to how much. It did tease, however, that it will be debuting new content for Dying Light 2 alongside some "highly requested features" next week. Rocket League is getting a limited-time deathmatch mode. Developer Psyonix is removing the ball in its new Knockout Bash mode as destroying other players becomes the only objective. The eight-player free-for-all mode was revealed in a PlayStation Blog post and will introduce new mechanics including attack, block, and grab. The event will only run for two weeks from April 27 to May 10, but features a number of tailor-made maps with various obstacles such as giant spiky pillars. Maps also feature a "kill zone" where players must force their opponents in order to win using the new attacking, grabbing, and blocking mechanics, inspiration of which was taken directly from fighting games. "We thought it would be fun if each move set juked another, like rock, paper, scissors," said Psyonix programmer Sky Breen, who was part of the team developing Knockout Bash. A God of War: Ragnarok developer has reassured fans that the game will definitely be released this year. To celebrate the last God of War game's four-year anniversary, director Cory Barlog had released a video saying, "I just wish that we could share [Raganarok footage] with you but it's just not ready to be shown." An Elden Ring fan is travelling 30 years back in time by creating a Game Boy demake of the FromSoftware open world hit. Twitch user shintendoTV is streaming the game's development live after announcing their plans in a Reddit post (below), where they said the game will be designed to work on real hardware – presumably the likes of Analogue Pocket, rather than an original Game Boy. While they're currently unsure how much of the game they'll recreate (as Elden Ring is truly massive ) Shintendo is at least hoping to make the complete opening area of Limgrave. The demake is being made in GB Studio 3.0, something Shintendo calls "a really impressive and brand new piece of software" that's still in development itself. This means that certain features such as enemy pathfinding (enemies chasing after the player) aren't available yet, but Shintendo is hoping to have a playable version of Limgrave completed, alongside a demo, by the end of May. Dr. Dre was at the centre of Grand Theft Auto Online's The Contract expansion, but the hip-hop icon initially had no intention of getting involved. Speaking to BET Music , rapper, producer, and GTA Online co-writer DJ Pooh said that Dre, not fully understanding what GTA was, didn't want to make music or appear in something intended for kids. "Initially it was just 'no', but that's the normal answer you get from Dre," he said. "Dre's not a gamer. He just didn't play any of the games. The director of the Star Wars: Rogue Squadron series wants to see a lot of Nintendo Wii features in any remaster for Switch. A conversation was sparked on Twitter (below) after a fan asked Aspyr - the developer behind other Star Wars Switch remasters, including Jedi Knight II and The Force Unleashed - if it would ever make a new version of Rogue Squadron. Aspyr said it would love to if fan demand was there, prompting Rogue Squadron series director Julian Eggebrecht to reel off his wishlist for the ultimate version. While all 32 original Overwatch characters are returning for the sequel, Blizzard announced two further reworks (joining Bastion and Sombra ) in a blog post , revealing that Doomfist has even had a role change. He'll switch from being a damage hero to a tank, losing his Uppercut ability in the process. Instead, Doomfist is now equipped with Power Block, a shielding ability that protects from frontal attacks, and his health has increased from 250 to 450. Blocking heavy damage with the shield will power up his Rocket Punch ability, which will travel faster and further and deal increased damage when empowered. Moon Knight has become the latest pop-culture character to arrive in Fortnite. Epic Games announced his inclusion in a blog post detailing the two new skin variations, Back Bling, and pickaxe, available for 2,000 V-Bucks altogether. The skins come in one single purchase that can be switched back and forward at the player's leisure, choosing between Moon Knight in his full superhero attire or Mr. Knight and his fancy three-piece suit. Also included with the skin is the Cloak Back Bling, as "Moon Knight is seldom seen without his cape", the blog post said. An update for Quake has added new accessibility options and maps 26 years after it was first released. As revealed on the Steam announcements page , Quake now lets players change its menu style to a plain black and white format instead of just having stylised letters appear over the game. Other sight-focused features include adjustable screen flash intensity, on-screen message duration times, an increase in the maximum number of messages appearing on the HUD, and adjustable display durations of multiplayer text messages. The update also brings a chat-to-voice converter to Quake. Players can now turn incoming multiplayer text chat into a synthesized voice, or convert incoming voice chat to text. The opposite is also possible, as messages the player sends can also be converted into a voice, with multiple styles available. Recently, developers behind the game have expressed their displeasure with its lengthy development . In an interview with USA Today , lead hero designer Geoff Goodman detailed how the team had a plan in place for the development of Overwatch 2. “We talked about it, way back,” he said. “We talked about how we were going to, on the production side, develop Overwatch 2 alongside Overwatch.” Unfortunately, this plan was derailed by the game’s many delays. “I think the whole team was kind of upset and annoyed a bit with the timing of how everything got delayed. Developer Tribute Games and publisher Dotemu have announced that TMNT: Shredder's Revenge, the upcoming spiritual successor to the classic late-'80s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arcade game and NES port, will be released this Summer for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch. Sega previously announced a brand-new Sonic collection called Sonic Origins would be released. Today, the company revealed this new collection will be released on Sonic’s birthday, June 23, 2022. Sonic Origins is a collection of several 2D Sonic games released on the Genesis including Sonic The Hedgehog 1, 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and Sonic CD. All of these games will be digitally remastered for current platforms. Along with the release date, Sega announced that Sonic Origins will be released on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC starting at $39.99. Pre-orders will go live starting tomorrow. The Dark Souls tabletop RPG developer will correct and reissue its rulebook after customers pointed out a number of errors. Steamforged Games has apologised for the state of the book, which is riddled with issues from spelling mistakes to rule-breaking inconsistencies such as Knights not being able to wear their own starting armour. Steamforged announced in a blog post that it will issue replacement copies to people who've already bought the book (which is currently available in the UK but not the US), alongside a PDF copy to all customers. Details are still hazy, however, as the developer has asked for "a little patience as we gather more detailed information regarding these reprints, the timescales involved, and how best to ensure we resolve this for each affected customer." PlayStation has released an app allowing users who own Windows 10 or 11 computers to update the DualSense controller. Previously, owners of the controller needed a PS5 console to receive firmware updates. The new app, appropriately titled "Firmware updater for DualSense wireless controller," is available now on PlayStation's website. Installing the app on your computer will allow you to install the latest firmware update for the DualSense controller by plugging in the device via a USB cable. PlayStation releasing a firmware app for PC comes as no surprise. Alongside the fact that the DualSense was already compatible with PC since its release in 2020, Sony has been slowly shifting to putting more of its first-party IPs on PC, starting with Horizon Zero Dawn in August 2020. Elden Ring's 50-hit fake wall was seemingly a glitch all along, and has been removed in the latest patch. If you don't remember, the mysterious wall was first discovered in March and shook the community as, while illusionary walls are nothing new to FromSoftware games, one that only disappears after 50 hits meant that practically any wall in the game could be hiding a completely new area. Close to 10 years after its original release, Rockstar has quietly removed a handful of characters and jokes from Grand Theft Auto 5 that critics have described as harmful stereotypes of transgender people. As first reported by Ars Technica , GTA community members have noted various changes to the remastered version of GTA 5 available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. They include characters labeled as "drag queens" no longer spawning outside Cockatoos in addition to having dialogue removed. Over on Reddit , another user noted that a Captain Spacetoy with "interchangeable genitalia" has been cut. In new-gen GTAV/GTAO, Rockstar appear to have disabled the trans caricatures or “drag queens” from spawning outside Cockatoos. This could be following a plea from OutMakingGames last year.
