Ghostrunner is already shaping up to be one of my most-anticipated games of 2020 , and up until this point much of its lore and setting has been shrouded in mystery. Who is the Ghostrunner? What is this tower we’re climbing? Who is the “whisper in your head?” Thankfully, during my most recent playthrough many of these questions were answered, while still saving some of that mystery for the full release. Developer One More Level has been hard at work on Ghostrunner since its impressive public debut at PAX East, adding new areas, enemies, characters, and abilities ahead of its final release. The first demo ended with the Ghostrunner coming face-to-face with the “whisper in his head” that he had been blindly following through the underbelly of Dharma Tower. New World, Amazon’s upcoming PC MMORPG will enter a closed beta on July 23. Players who pre-order New World will automatically gain access to the beta, plus a few digital bonuses. New World is Amazon’s upcoming MMO where players take the role of conquistadors who must set up a colony on land possessed by monsters and demons. Torchlight 3 is now available on Steam Early Access, and it includes 4 playable classes, 2 complete Acts, dozens of quests, a player-created custom Fort feature, over 100 Legendary items, and much more. Torchlight 3 is currently $29.99 USD, but doesn't currently have an official release date. However, developer Echtra Inc. has said this Early Access phase will last "at least a few months while we refine the game further and add new features and end game content." After months of piecing together information about the upcoming Sony PlayStation 5 , we’ve finally gotten a look at the console’s unique design – along with the reveal that a disc-less “Digital Edition” will also be in tow. We didn’t, however, get any more hints about the PS5’s price, though the presence of a digital edition is promising. First, let’s clear up one misconception: it’s unlikely that these two consoles will be hugely different in terms of performance. Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus will include new missions, bosses and characters when it's released for consoles on July 17. The latest character in the Guilty Gear Strive line-up has been revealed, and it's the returning Ramlethal Valentine. Announced exclusively as part of today's IGN Expo, Ramlethal specializes in controlling the mid-range, and uses two large swords as her primary weapons (carried by her flying Luciferos partners). Strive marks Ramlethal's second appearance as a playable character in the series. AT&T is reportedly looking to sell the Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment gaming division, which includes studios like NetherRealm, Avalanche, and Rocksteady. The deal could be valued at $4 billion and there’s reported interest from companies like Take-Two, EA, and Activision Blizzard. In a report from CNBC , telecom company AT&T, which purchased Warner Media in 2018, is looking to divest some assets to help pay off $200 billion in debt. This includes WB Interactive, which has already picked up interest from some of the game industry’s largest companies. Though sources say a deal is neither in place nor imminent. While the news that Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales coming to PS5 for the 2020 holiday season was one of the highlights of Sony’s reveal event , precious little information about the game was actually revealed. That’s why it’s notable for Phil Lord -- best known to Spidey fans as the man behind the story of 2018’s Oscar-winning animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse featuring Miles Morales -- to reveal that he’s one of few people who have actually seen the game. Lord retweeted the reveal trailer for the upcoming game, writing, “We got a chance last year to check out what the insomniacs are up to and... it’s special. Sony went all-in with this week’s PlayStation 5 Reveal event, choosing to push all of its chips into the center of the table on one hand rather than make more frequent smaller bets, as Microsoft has (mostly successfully) done so far. But, perhaps knowing it had a great hand – it certainly helps that you’re the market leader by a sales factor of two over your competitors, meaning you have a much higher margin for error – it waited. And when the time finally came, Sony played its hand beautifully – it was also the most-watched gaming stream in YouTube’s history – erasing much of Microsoft’s hard-earned Xbox Series X momentum in one fell swoop.
