The Weirdest Pokemon Evolution Methods in the Scarlet and Violet DLC

Image
Listen, there are some weird Pokemon evolutions out there, and Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have them in spades. Sometimes the cute little guy you first caught will evolve into an absolute monstrosity, or just something a little bit... off. But who doesn't love a good motley crew? The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Teal Mask DLC introduced some new and classic Pokemon to the game, but evolving them isn't always a straightforward process. Here are some of the most sought-after Pokemon evolution methods in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Teal Mask DLC and the Pokemon Indigo Disk DLC. How to Evolve Nosepass in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Expose to Thunder Stone Defeat in 5-Star or 6-Star Tera Raid Battle This adorable little Moai (or Easter Island head) of a Pokemon makes a return in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC, but evolving Nosepass is different this time around. Once you've found Nosepass in the northwestern corner of Kitakami (we recommend looking in Paradise B

The 12 Most Expensive Movies Ever Made

Image
One of the most expensive industries in the world, the movie biz has been steadily increasing its income as well as its production costs to keep up with the new tech and content demands of viewers and filmmakers alike. Due to this, most of the movies on this list are from the past few years. With big-budget Hollywood movie companies like Disney, Amazon, and Universal buying up and utilizing all the smaller names in film, it’s easy to see how the movies on this list got here–most notably all the movies owned by Disney . To clarify: the movies on this list are all movies that are finished and released to the public, not including films that aren’t. The numbers in this article reflect the costs of filming, not including costs such as promotions, advertisements, commercials, posters, etc. Since most production companies do not release actual production costs, this data has been estimated –more than likely underestimated–by movie industry professionals and writers tasked with doing so.

How to Use VALORANT's New Gun: The Outlaw

Image
VALORANT Episode 8 Act 1 is dropping January 10th and brings, for the first time since launch, a new gun. The Outlaw is the new weapon in the latest season that brings a new sniper rifle into play. Here’s everything you need to know about the Outlaw and the newest season of VALORANT. OUTLAW The Outlaw is a brand new double-barreled sniper rifle made to fit somewhere between the Marshal and Operator sniper rifles in the roster. The Outlaw can fire two shots in succession very quickly without zooming out. Depending on how many shots you’ve fired, one shot or two, the reload times will vary and are overall a bit longer than the other sniper rifles to compensate for the fire rate. Nick Smith, Game Designer II and Sal Garozzo, Game Designer Architect, stated, “The Shorty (the sawed off shotgun sidearm in Valorant) served as a bit of an inspiration in that regard, allowing us to reimagine that paradigm in a new context with a Sniper rifle.” The Outlaw will be especially formidable aga

Portal: Revolution Is Basically a Full-Sized Fan-Made Prequel Releasing Very Soon

Nearly 13 years after the debut of Portal 2, fans of the beloved first-person puzzle game were supposed to be rewarded with the Jan. 5 release of a prequel campaign from Second Face Software. The fan-made mod, dubbed Portal: Revolution, will add over eight hours of gameplay and 40 new test chambers to the sequel game. Instead, those who opened Steam today were met with a disappointing announcement from the game's devs in lieu of new Portal content. "Right off the bat, I want to say that the game is done," the message reads. "We could ship at any moment, but Valve has yet to review and accept the game for release." The note continues on to explain how all games on Steam are beholden to a review process by Valve before developers can even have the option to punch the release button. The Portal: Revolution developers first submitted their build for review Dec. 20 but had yet to hear back from Valve before the mod's intended Jan. 5 release date. "

Hideo Kojima Compares OD to Boktai, Says It Will be Just as 'Different'

What is OD? We don't know much save that it's being made in collaboration with Jordan Peele, and that it will feature a lot of familiar Hollywood celebs screaming silently into the screen. Probably. Predictably, creator Hideo Kojima is calling it a game, a movie, and a "new form of media." He's also comparing it to Boktai: The Sun Is in Your Hand, a cult favorite series on GBA and Nintendo DS that was a big departure at the time for Kojima, who is best-known for his work on Metal Gear Solid. It seems I have been acknowledged by creating games that go against the current of the times, such as "hide-and-seek" games where you sneak into a building without being detected by the enemy, or "delivery games" where you enjoy moving around in an open world, For me, the most… — HIDEO_KOJIMA (@HIDEO_KOJIMA_EN) January 4, 2024 In Boktai, you play a vampire hunter named Django ( no, not that Django ) who battles the undead with the help of a solar gun

Baldur's Gate 3 Modders Won't Stop Giving Astarion Guns

Since long before it left early access in August, players have jumped into modding Baldur's Gate 3, adding everything from 54 new races to new controls . However, one recent modding trend has shed light on one thing: players really, really want Astarion to have a gun. Earlier this week, Nexus Mods user Palmaman33 uploaded several different gun mods to the site's Baldur's Gate 3 section, letting players bring guns to knife (or mace/staff/sword/anything) fights. These guns can be equipped by any character, but in almost every screenshot of these different mods shared by players on X/Twitter, however, the gun wielder always seems to be Astarion. Normally, Astarion is a hedonistic High Elf Rogue who has a secret vampiric past, but players just haven't been able to stop replacing his usual default dagger with a gun for some reason, no matter how much chaos he might cause. who gave this guy a fucking gun i can't breathe pic.twitter.com/SUbe1yu7CX — 유미 (@choidaeh

Baldur's Gate 3 Includes a Moving Tribute to a Fan's Father Who Has Alzheimer's

With countless different endings and around 100 hours per playthrough , Baldur's Gate 3 is jam-packed with rooms, lines of dialogue, and characters that players might miss. However, one player has shared their especially meaningful experience with one of the game's lesser-known NPCs, and their story is now resurfacing thanks to a recent post from a developer. In 2020, Larian forums user Solfalia shared a post thanking Larian Studios for releasing Act I of Baldur's Gate 3 in early access — the game's early release enabled them to play with their father, who played previous Larian games with them but had recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. "This Early Access means that this Xmas I'll be able to go on an adventure with him one last time, and I know he'll enjoy it," Solfalia wrote in the original post. There wasn't a dry eye in the house when we read that letter, and I volunteered to write Golbraith (I'm not super writer b

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth – The Final Preview

Kiryu Kazuma and Kasuga Ichiban are two sides of the same Like a Dragon coin. Their personalities could not be more different — Kiryu, a world-weary lone wolf, and Kasuga, a Dragon Quest-loving golden retriever — but they live by a similar code of ethics and share a similar past, both locked up for crimes they didn't commit to help out their yakuza families. It was a bummer that Kiryu didn't stick around longer when he came around in Yakuza: Like a Dragon. The two men would sure as hell have a lot to talk about. Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth finally brings the two mainline protagonists together for an ultra-compelling and sprawling game that lives up to its subtitle. The three-and-a-half-ish hours I spent roaming Honolulu and Yokohama, sprucing up the trashed Dondoko Island, and battling a Megalodon-sized shark felt like a drop in the Pacific Ocean in terms of the game's scope. And that's just speaking to the gameplay. Having both Kasuga and Kiryu as playable protag

The Xbox Series S Toaster was

Warhammer Co-Creator Bryan Ansell Dies at 68

Bryan Ansell, one of the chief architects of the Warhammer franchise alongside Richard Halliwell and Rick Priestley, has died. He was 68. Ansell's death was announced on Instagram on December 30 with the message, "With great sadness, we announce that Bryan passed away peacefully at home this morning surrounded by his family, 30th December 2023." It included a classic photo of Ansell sitting in front of a Warhammer army with the description, "Mighty, Dark-Winged, Avenging Lord of Chaos, Bryan Ansell, and his Mighty Avenging Chaos Army." Warhammer founded Cidatel Miniatures in partnership with Steven Jackson's Games Workshop in 1978. His initially sold 25mm historical and fantasy miniatures and games, but it was 1983's Warhammer Fantasy Battle that would become the company's breakout hit. Ansell bought out Games Workshop alongside Tom Kirby, and the company was eventually refocused around Warhammer and Warhammer 40K. Ansell ultimately left Games

CD Projekt Is Not Interested in Being Acquired

Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher developer CD Projekt Red is not interested in being acquired despite the likes of Xbox and PlayStation actively seeking out studios to purchase. Adam Kiciński, chief strategy officer of parent company CD Projekt S.A., told Polish outlet Parkiet that the company is happy and healthy as an independent being. "We are not interested in integrating ourselves into any larger entity," Kiciński said. "Throughout our entire lives we have worked towards the position we currently hold. We believe that in a few years, we will be even bigger and stronger." CD Projekt Red is certainly getting bigger as an expansion into North America is currently underway. The aptly titled CD Projekt Red North America will include teams at an already established Vancouver studio plus a new Boston-based studio currently being built. These teams will work adjacent to the CD Projekt Red developers in Poland but will focus on the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel , codename

Infestation '88 Renamed as Developers Disavow 'Nazism and Hate in Any Form' [Update]

Update: Infestation '88 has been officially renamed Infestation: Origins following blowblack over its references to Neo-Nazi ideology. In a statement to IGN, Nightmare Forge Games reiterated that the original name was meant to reflect the year "1988," adding, "Unfortunately, at the time of its announcement, we were unaware of any additional meanings the number '88' has. Through feedback from the community, we learned it did, and therefore made this name change ASAP." We want to apologize for our ignorance on this topic and appreciate that it was brought to our attention so we could address it. There is no intentional use of Nazi symbolism in our game nor studio, and we'll continue to address any concerns as they arise. We strongly stand against Nazism and hate in any form." The original story continues below. The developers behind the game announced as Infestation 88, a new Mickey Mouse horror game announced shortly after the character en

Frogwares has announced that it is the sole publisher of The Sinking City on all platforms. This comes after Frogwares’ lengthy legal battle with the game’s original PC publisher, Nacon. Star Wars Outlaws Arrives Late 2024

Star Wars Outlaws, the highly anticipated open world game from Ubisoft, will be released in late 2024. Though Ubisoft and Star Wars owner Disney had previously remained tight lipped about the release date, a Disney Parks blog post quietly announced the release window, which was previously only confirmed to be sometime in 2024. "Star Wars Outlaws, the open world Star Wars game, is set to release late this year," the post said. "The game lets you explore distinct planets across the galaxy, both iconic and new. You can risk it all as Kay Vess, an emerging scoundrel seeking freedom and the means to start a new life, along with her companion Nix. If you’re willing to take the risk, the galaxy is full of opportunity." Star Wars Outlaws was revealed at the 2023 Xbox Games Showcase with a gameplay presentation coming soon after , and fans quickly grew obsessed with the cute axolotl-like Nix . The game is set between Star Wars: Episode 5 - The Empire Strikes Back an

Firewall Ultra Developer First Contact Entertainment to Shut Down After Nearly Eight Years

First Contact Entertainment, the developer behind such PlayStation VR titles as Firewall Ultra and Firewall Zero Hour, has announced it will be shutting down at the beginning of 2024. First Contact took to Facebook to share the news, saying "the lack of support for VR within the industry" is one of the main reasons for this decision. "After almost 8 years of working with the most amazing team I’ve ever have the pleasure of being part of, I’m sad to announce that we will be closing our company First Contact Entertainment by the end of the year," First Contact Entertainment wrote. "The lack of support for VR within the industry has eventually taken its toll. "As a AAA VR game developer, we are just not able to justify the expense needed gouging [sic] forward. We are a team of fearless innovators willing to push new technologies to its limits. I am extremely proud of the team and grateful to our investors, our partners and of course our community of d

Baldur's Gate 3 Deleted Save Bug Continues on Xbox, Larian Offers a Cross-Save Work-Around

It's been a few weeks since Larian Studios surprised players with an Xbox Series X|S release during the Game Awards , and some players have faced a bug that deletes their saves upon exiting the game throughout the holidays. Microsoft hasn't yet been able to patch it — but Larian Studios now has a temporary fix. Yesterday, in a post on X/Twitter , Larian Studios acknowledged the bug and said Microsoft hasn't been able to fix it yet because less people are working over the holidays. Instead, it announced the following work-around that lets players make sure their games are saved: Create a Larian account at https://larian.com/account . Go to the options menu from the main menu. Under gameplay, activate cross-saves, linking your Larian and Xbox accounts. From now on, your last 5 saves will automatically be uploaded to the larian servers. It is important that you do not exit the game before the upload is finished. The upload is finished when the message “Syncing cloud sa

Square Enix President States the Company Will Be 'Aggressive in Applying AI'

Square Enix president Takashi Kiryu has penned a New Year's Letter that outlines some of his vision for the company, and it reveals it plans to "be aggressive in applying AI and other cutting-edge technologies to both our content development and our publishing functions." These New Year's Letters have become a staple of New Year's Day recently, and previous ones have discussed the desire to explore NFTs, blockchain games, the metaverse, and more. This year, AI took a turn in the spotlight. Kiryu began by talking about how AI and its "potential implications" have long been the subject of "academic debate." However, he says, the rise of ChatGPT and similar generative AI programs have the "potential not only to reshape what we create, but also to fundamentally change the processes by which we create, including programming." In turn, Kiryu and Square Enix plan to be, as previously mentioned, "aggressive in applying AI and othe

We Start 2024 by Interviewing the World's First Dog Speedrunner

As a massive fan of twice-annual charity speedrunning event Games Done Quick (GDQ), I’ve seen some pretty wild speedruns over the years. I’ve seen people beat Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Punch-Out!, and Super Mario Bros. 64 while blindfolded. I’ve witnessed Nier: Automata played one-handed. I’ve watched someone go absolutely ham on what looked like a cross between DDR and a washing machine. But this year’s show has a speedrun planned like none I’ve ever seen before. This year, at Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ), a dog is going to speedrun a game. Until this announcement, I had never even heard of a dog being able to play a video game, let alone speedrun it. But this year, a Shiba Inu named Peanut Butter is going to beat Gyromite in front of a massive live audience, and we’re all going to lose our minds over it. Admittedly, the very talented and adorable Peanut Butter (or PB, for short) did not sign up for AGDQ or learn to play Gyromite on his own. He’s still a dog! PB i
