Fortnite Festival: Songs Setlist, Festival Pass, and Gameplay Details

Fortnite Festival is a brand new triple-a rhythm game from Harmonix, creators of Rockband, and it’s available now. It features two special modes: Festival Main Stage and Festival Jam Stage. Main Stage is your classic Rockband mode where you can perform songs with your band while Jam Stage is where you can chill and, as the name suggests, jam. Fortnite Festival is a new way for players to socialize and share their love of music either through trying to get the top high scores or creating the ultimate mash up in Jam Stage. Either way you play, music lovers are going to be having a blast playing Fortnite Festival. Here’s what you need to know to perform your best on each stage. Festival Main Stage Main Stage is where you go to play through a variety of music tracks for your adoring audience. You can choose between playing the Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keytar, and Microphone. You can also customize skins for each of those instruments and set your emotes so you can show off your weird or ...

Epic Says Rock Band Controller Support a 'Priority' for Fortnite Festival

Fortnite Festival has officially arrived and brings with it a Rock Band-like experience to Fortnite. While it doesn't support instrument controllers at launch, Epic has confirmed to IGN it is a priority for the team to add it in the future and that they are actively working on it. IGN had the chance to speak to Epic EVP Saxs Persson and Harmonix studio director Alex Rigopulos about Fortnite Festival and they had some exciting news to share for those who wish to relive the days of Rock Band and Guitar Hero. "Not at launch, but it's very much a priority for us to support instrument peripherals in the game," Rigopulos said. "It's something that we're actually already actively working on. We don't have anything specific to say about it yet, other than it's coming." The official Fortnite blog did add, however, that we will be hearing more about this functionality at some point in 2024. For those unfamiliar, Fortnite Festival is a free-to-p...

Sonic Dream Team Review

Hot on the heels of a new full-sized Sonic game in Sonic Superstars , the Apple Arcade exclusive Sonic Dream Team might not look like it has much to offer at first. It only has a dozen levels, and all you get control-wise are a D-pad and two buttons. For some, the fact that it’s only available on Apple devices (at least for the time being) is a non-starter all its own. But despite all that, Sonic Dream Team more than manages to justify its existence – in fact, its superb level design and bite-sized missions make it one of the most fun, creative, and enjoyable 3D platformers I’ve played in a long time. Sonic Dream Team’s story kicks off when Dr. Eggman finds a device that brings his dreams into reality. This is obviously bad news for reality, so it’s up to Sonic and friends to work their way through four dream worlds and defeat him. Unfortunately the story is forgettable, lifelessly told through voiceover on top of still images, like a radio play accompanied by comic book panels. But...

Exclusive: More The Casting of Frank Stone Details and Brand-New Screenshots

Dark mist, bloody meat hooks, and one, lonely killer — these are the sinister ingredients for Dead by Daylight, Behaviour Interactive's asymmetrical survival horror game. Since releasing in 2016, the popular multiplayer has repeatedly elaborated on this basic formula by mixing in great horror IP, like by recently adding '80s murder doll Chucky to its killer roster and Alien's unshakeable Ellen Ripley to its bank of survivors. It pushed open the doors to its dreadful universe by creating a half-joking dating sim and comic book series , but it's never expanded its mythology as ambitiously as it plans to with Until Dawn developer Supermassive Games. After teasing a collaboration earlier this year , Behaviour announced plans at The Game Awards on December 7 to release spin-off game The Casting of Frank Stone in 2024 . To learn more about the interactive drama, IGN spoke to Dead by Daylight senior creative director Dave Richard, Behaviour's head of partnerships ...

The Finals Review in Progress

If there’s one genre that lends itself to boom or bust, it's the online shooter. For every success like Call of Duty, Halo, or Apex Legends, it seems like there are at least a dozen other games that have come and gone with barely a spark before they fizzle. With so many good competitive shooters in play, what makes one stand out? What makes it worth diverting your time to in versus another? After my first night of matches in The Finals, I think I’m starting to get a picture for how it answers those questions. If The Running Man were about 3v3v3 gun battles, it would’ve resembled The Finals. The vibrant color palette combines with a pair of live sports-style play-by-play announcers to give it that over-the-top, American Gladiators feel that people in the ‘80s thought was going to be the future of sports. It strikes a great balance of not taking itself too seriously without making it a joke or becoming obnoxious. There are two core “modes” to start with. Quick Cash has each team...

Assassin's Creed Mirage Gets New Game Plus Next Week, but Permadeath Mode Delayed to 2024

It’s good news and bad news for Assassin’s Creed Mirage . First, the bad news: the permadeath mode Ubisoft had said would come out in December is delayed to early 2024. Now, the good news: Mirage’s New Game Plus mode comes out next week, Ubisoft announced in a post on X/Twitter . Assassin's Creed Mirage came out in October and, soon after, Ubisoft revealed its launch was "in line" with that of previous entries in the series, Assassin's Creed Origins and Odyssey. IGN’s Assassin's Creed Mirage review returned an 8/10. We said its "return to the stealthy style that launched this series doesn’t do everything right, but everything it does feels like it was done with purpose." New Game Plus for Assassin’s Creed Mirage lets you dive back into Basim’s journey with your current progression and new rewards. Ubisoft has yet to detail the permadeath mode, but we do know it will be available across all difficulties. In October, Ubisoft's long-awaited J...

The Day Before's Early Access Launch Is Not Going Well So Far

After trademark disputes , multiple delays , and everything in between, FNTASTIC has finally released The Day Before on Steam in early access. But it is not off to the best start right now with many players complaining, citing server and performance issues as among the biggest problems. At time of writing, The Day Before's Steam page has been flooded with negative reviews from users. Many criticize that despite being labeled an open-world game or an MMO , in reality, it is an extraction shooter, as some players have pointed out . One reviewer posted about how their character was randomly falling through the map as soon as the opening cutscene ended. My colleague Mark Medina actually suffered the same thing himself, and he was kind enough to upload the first 22 minutes of the game along with the infamous bug right at the beginning, which you can check out below: That is, of course, assuming you were able to get into the game at all, as many players aired their frustratio...

The Walking Dead: Betrayal Is Shutting Down Less Than Three Months After Early Access Launch

After launching nearly three months ago in early access, Skybound Games and Other Ocean Interactive announced that they're stopping the development of The Walking Dead: Betrayal, with the project set to be removed from Steam early next week. In a new blog post , Skybound Games revealed that The Walking Dead: Betrayal will be delisted on Steam on December 1. By December 15, the game will be shut down completely. Those who purchased the game will be able to receive a full refund with updates confirmed to be published on both Steam and the official TWD: Betrayal Discord server . "Despite the hard work put into the game, we were not able to find a path to build the spirited community of backstabbers we originally envisioned," Skybound Games wrote in the blog post. Announced during San Diego Comic-Con this past July, The Walking Dead: Betrayal is a multiplayer game where up to eight survivors fend off the undead. Social deception and survival were the big focuses in The...

LEGO Fortnite Gets Gameplay Trailer

The highly anticipated LEGO Fortnite has received its first gameplay trailer alongside its launch today, December 7. The trailer, below, reveals how the brick-building gameplay blends with Fortnite's battle royale. The trailer didn't show any player versus player action though, instead focusing on the building, survival, and cooperative elements. The mode appears to be exactly what it says on the tin: Fortnite gameplay in a LEGO style . LEGO minifigure skins explore the Fortnite map, destroying trees and boulders to gain resources to then build as normal, except in the style of LEGO bricks. Building takes on a more permanent role in the mode, however, with various intricate and extravagant models being shown off in the trailer. Survival elements featured too, as players will seemingly be left bricking it as night falls and all sorts of spooky beasties appear. Wolves, skeletons, and angry dragon-looking bosses all appear in the trailer, all made up of LEGO bricks. Even Fo...

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.1 Includes a Devastating Reference to Cyberpunk: Edgerunners

CD Projekt Red are tugging at heartstrings again after including a devastating reference to hit anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners in Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.1. Fans were very excited over the long requested romantic partner hangouts being added to Cyberpunk 2077 ( and are obviously still obsessed with them ), but CD Projekt Red targeted them right in the feels with the mission name connected to these meets. As outlined in IGN's Cyberpunk 2077 Guide , which details how to trigger the romantic encounters and what they entail, beginning one will start a Main Job called "I Really Want to Stay At Your House". This is a reference to the song by Rosa Walton and Hallie Coggins, that's been in Cyberpunk 2077 from the start but greatly grew in popularity after the release of Cyberpunk: Edgeunners in September 2022 . While we won't spoil what happens in Cyberpunk: Edgeunners, the song appears at some particularly emotional moments. I Really Want to Stay At Your House also ...

'Florida Joker' Seemingly Referenced in GTA 6 Trailer Responds: 'GTA, We Gotta Talk'

After being seemingly referenced in this week’s Grand Theft Auto 6 first trailer, Lawrence Sullivan – aka “Florida Joker” – has responded, telling Rockstar “we gotta talk.” Apparently the Florida Joker that Rockstar parodied in the GTAVI trailer has reacted on TikTok “GTA, we gotta talk” pic.twitter.com/mm5LefHXUH — Ben (@videotechuk_) December 6, 2023 GTA 6 takes place in the state of Leonida, which is basically Rockstar’s version of Florida, and fans quickly noticed a number of real-life, Florida-related references in just the brief 90-second trailer. Among them was what very much seemed to be a reference to Sullivan, a tattoo model who garnered plenty of online attention after his mugshot went viral in 2017 . Obviously, he earned the nickname “Florida Joker” due to his green hair and face tattoos. The GTA version, seen in a quick shot of news footage, is a tad bit different – purple hair instead of green, some different face tattoos – but the similarities are certainly ha...

Baldur's Gate 3 Mod That Made Fan-Favorite Lesbian Romance Heterosexual Removed After Backlash

NexusMods has removed a mod that aimed to make one of Baldur's Gate 3's most popular queer romances heterosexual in the wake of a backlash from fans. The mod, which turned Dame Aylin into "Ser Aylin," used AI voices and other tricks to reimagine her as a man. The mod met with swift backlash, with one post on Reddit urging fans not to support the mod earning more than 17,000 upvotes. The post notes that the mod is included in a collection that, among other things, seeks to remove people of color from Larian's popular RPG. In a post explaining the ban , NexusMods said that the mod violated the site's community rules by "appearing to reduce diversity in Baldur's Gate 3 by taking a same-sex couple and swapping the gender of one of the partners to make them heterosexual." The post continues, "We are for inclusivity, we are for diversity. If we think someone is uploading a mod on our site with the intent to deliberately be against inclusiv...

The Best GTA Protagonists, Ranked

Image
Spanning over 16 titles, the Grand Theft Auto series has garnered quite a reputation during its time as one of gaming’s seminal franchises. No matter which entry you visit, you’ll find a sprawling open world filled with high-speed car chases, daring heists, intense gunfights and a huge metropolis to explore. But while carnage and police pursuits are largely Grand Theft Auto’s bread and butter, it’s not the only thing fans rely on Rockstar to provide. Alongside a fully interactive sandbox, Grand Theft Auto games are lorded for their stories. Across over two decades of releases, the franchise has transformed into a crime saga like no other, telling the tales of an array of ambitious criminals completing seemingly impossible scores, intercepting seedy criminal underworlds and usurping feared crime lords. And as a result, the protagonists of these Rockstar games have become iconic. Whether it’s Niko’s silent reflections about the cycle of revenge or Trevor’s uncanny ability to wake ...
