Paradox Interactive has announced that Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is back in development with Everybody's Gone to the Rapture and Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs' The Chinese Room. The news was announced at PAX West, and it was also confirmed Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 will be getting a gameplay reveal in January 2024 and a release date in Fall 2024. Bloodlines 2 is the sequel to the original game from 2004 and Paradox provided a description of the game to tease the bloody adventure that lies ahead. "Bloodlines 2 takes players to the dark underbelly of Seattle, where vampires struggle for survival and supremacy," the official description reads. "As an Elder vampire, players meet compelling characters, maneuver complex political relationships, stalk the city streets for prey, and engage in intense combat while balancing the need for blood. "Throughout the game, players must always be mindful of their surroundings or risk breaking th

Fate/Samurai Remnant: Hands-On With the First 8 Hours

Fate/Samurai Remnant is the latest action RPG developed by Omega Force, and it's the latest title in the Warriors series the company is known for. Type-Moon played a supervisory role in the creation of the game, while Koei Tecmo handled development. While I was surprised to hear that the two companies would be working together, it became crystal clear to me once I actually got my hands on the game that it really is the latest Fate title, showing plenty of the interactions and bonds depicted through free-for-all battles that make the series so appealing. This article is a hands-on report by a fan of the Fate series, and by turn Type-Moon, after about eight hours of play on the Steam edition demo, up to partway through the first chapter. I played on the Sword Fighter difficulty, which is equivalent to normal. Also keep in mind that this was an in-development demo, so there may be changes to details in the final release. A story that even newcomers will enjoy The Fate series is

Bethesda's Pete Hines Says Redfall Will Be a Good Game Eventually, Compares It to Fallout 76

Bethesda Softworks publishing head Pete Hines has reassured players that Arkane isn't giving up on Redfall, despite its lukewarm reception on launch earlier this year. In fact, he's confident it will be a good game people want to play on Game Pass ten years from now. Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz , Hines answered a question about how publisher Bethesda is changing as a result of the response to Redfall by explaining that the publisher has plenty of experience with games not going the way it had hoped. "We are the same company that has had launches that didn't go the way we wanted, and we don't quit or abandon stuff just because it didn't start right," he said. "The Elder Scrolls Online's PC launch was not flawless but we stuck with it. Now it's like this insanely popular multiplatform. It's the same with Fallout 76. Redfall is no different for us. "Okay, we didn't get the start we wanted, but it's still a fun game… and

Ghostrunner 2: The First Hands-On Preview

For my money, no single-player game makes you earn every acrobatic kill quite like 2020’s Ghostrunner. Its fast-paced action platforming was intense and brutally challenging, but wall-running, air dodging, and sliding your way around a room to chop up enemies while dodging their pinpoint counter-offensives felt satisfying when you got it right. Based on my very limited hands-on time with the sequel, its brand of high-speed kill-or-be-killed violence remains one of the most unique and rewarding action game experiences out there, and Ghostrunner 2 wastes no time upping the ante with new tricks to get the edge on enemies, and new ways to challenge your reflexes. The “punk” part of cyberpunk is still firmly front and center in Ghostrunner 2. After killing The Keymaster, Jack and his team are left to try to bring some semblance of order back to Dharma Tower, which is being consumed by the chaos of several gangs attempting to fill the power vacuum. The city itself looks brighter and bolde

The Soulslikes of gamescom 2023 Show the Genre Has Grown Up

In 2014, three years after FromSoftware caused an industrial quake with Dark Souls, Lords of the Fallen was released. Created by Deck13 and CI Games, it was a middling attempt at recreating the punishing magic of FromSoft’s masterpiece. In the years since it has fallen into obscurity; a largely forgotten B-tier relic from the dawn of the eighth console generation. But while Lords of the Fallen isn’t notable for its quality, it will always be an important part of gaming history. It was the first significant ‘soulslike’. An entire genre of FromSoftware copycats began here. Almost ten years later, gamescom 2023 was the stage for a trio of important soulslike games. Spearheading the show was Black Myth: Wukong, the incredibly slick reinvention of China’s classic Journey to the West story that – based on the hugely excited audience reaction – may be the most important soulslike so far. Alongside it was Lies of P, the big hitter from last year’s gamescom , which once again proved itself

Stardew Valley Cookbook Announced With Recipes for Pink Cake, Strange Buns, and More

Stardew Valley is set to get its very own cookbook which will allow fans to experience the tastes of over 50 recipes from the beloved farming RPG when it releases in spring 2024. “I would like to announce the upcoming Stardew Valley Cookbook,” read a post on developer ConcernedApe’s X account. “It'll be out next spring, and includes 50 recipes from the game such as Pink Cake, Salad, and the Strange Bun," it said. Food is a cornerstone of Stardew Valley experience. Players hoping to get the most out of the short in game day can replenish energy by consuming the pixelated snacks, while those slogging their way through the sleepy town’s monster-infested mines rely heavily on meals to replenish health lost in combat. It is also part of the social fabric of the game. Recipes for new dishes can be given by grateful NPCs, which in turn can be cooked and given to villages to strengthen the bond between them and the player. I would like to announce the upcoming Stardew Valley C

You can leave stuff in your personal safe in your bedroom at the Lodge, once you become a member of Constellation through the main quest. Take the stairs up, head through the third door on the right, go all the way down the hall, take a left, and

Cyberpunk 2077 Only Getting One Expansion Was a 'Technological Decision', CD Projekt Red Says

CD Projekt Red choosing to make Phantom Liberty the only Cyberpunk 2077 expansion was a "technological decision", the developer has said. Speaking during CD Projekt's latest earnings call , senior vice president of business development MichaƂ Nowakowski said shifting from REDengine, the developer's own game engine, to Unreal Engine 5 was a "key reason" in deciding only one expansion would be made. "As we have announced a long time ago, we're not going to make a second or third expansion", Nowakowski said when asked how many copies of Phantom Liberty would need to sell for CD Projekt Red to make more DLC. "This is the only expansion of the game, and it has nothing to do with the numbers and how satisfied or not we are with sales or anything of the kind. "It's a technological decision to be honest. This is the last time we're working on the REDengine, for the time being at least, and in the foreseeable future as you know we
