Splatoon 3's Next Splatfest Is a Pokémon Collab

Splatoon 3's next Splatfest will be themed after Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, asking players to choose which type of Starter Pokémon they go for. Taking place the weekend ahead of Scarlet and Violet's November 18 release date , running from November 11 to 13, the Splatfest will grant players Pokémon themed shirts depending on which type they choose, Grass, Fire, or Water. The green grass shirt features a silhouette of new starter Pokémon Sprigatito on the back, the orange fire shirt features Fuecoco, and the blue water shirt has Quaxly. Nintendo has also promised that the Splatsville hub area will be decorated in celebration of the event, encouraging anyone playing Splatoon 3 that weekend to participate. Having only launched in September, Splatoon 3 hasn't had many Splatfests so far, but its first one asked players to join teams based on what they'd bring to a deserted island : gear, grub, or fun. Sony went all-in with this week’s PlayStation 5 Reveal event, choosing to push all of its chips into the center of the table on one hand rather than make more frequent smaller bets, as Microsoft has (mostly successfully) done so far. But, perhaps knowing it had a great hand – it certainly helps that you’re the market leader by a sales factor of two over your competitors, meaning you have a much higher margin for error – it waited. And when the time finally came, Sony played its hand beautifully – it was also the most-watched gaming stream in YouTube’s history – erasing much of Microsoft’s hard-earned Xbox Series X momentum in one fell swoop. You Can Skip the Ladder Part in Metal Gear Solid 3

A Metal Gear Solid 3 player has figured out how to skip the game's infamously long ladder climb. Though it came out 18 years ago in 2004, YouTube user Apel has finally figured out a way to skip MGS3's two minute climb altogether, as spotted by Polygon . They showed off the tactic in a video but it essentially involves positioning protagonist Snake next to the ladder before pressing a few particular buttons in the menu. When the player comes back to the game, Snake enters a T-Pose and floats for a moment before being fired like a rocket to the very top. While this may seem a bit redundant given the game is nearly two decades old, speedrunners are still chipping away at Metal Gear Solid 3 to achieve quicker and quicker times. In fact, the top five speedruns were all set in the last year, showing that new tactics like these are still very valuable to the community.
