Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2 Arrives on PC, Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch in Summer 2022

-
The 2004 hit RPG Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance II is getting an updated re-release this summer. The game, from Publisher Interplay Entertainment and developer Black Isle Studios, will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. The game will not be a remake, but it will feature enhanced graphics and up to 4K resolution on supported platforms. If you want to play with friends, you’ll be able to play co-op locally across all versions. On the Steam version, you’ll also be able to use Remote Play for a long-distance cooperative experience. And yes, it’s fully verified on the Steam Deck for an on-the-go, handheld RPG experience. The original game was released in 2004 on PS2 and Xbox, three years after the first. -
I don’t know if there’s something in the water causing developers to dust off franchises that were around when I was still in diapers and start developing sequels, but if last year’s Return to Monkey Island is anything to go by, I’m thankful for whatever mysterious powers are at work. And just like Ron Gilbert’s return to the helm of his old brainchild, Paul Cuisset, creator of the original Flashback, has also come back to head up the upcoming sequel to a retro classic. From the hour-long section I was able to play, it’s shocking just how much Flashback 2 seems like it will stick to its roots. That comes with all the potential pros and cons you might imagine. If you never played 1992’s Flashback, or any of the re-releases or remasters since, it’s a retro platformer and adventure game where you jump and roll around, solve puzzles, and shoot mutants in a dystopian cyberpunk future. Despite a pretty enormous 30-year gap, this sequel very much follows in the footsteps of its predecessor...

As part of today's January 2024 State of Play presentation, Stellar Blade's new trailer revealed impressive visuals alongside a ton of fast-paced slashy gameplay. Stellar Blade was first announced all way back in 2019, then known under the codename Project Eve, and was initially announced for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. The game would then appear two years later at a September 2021 State of Play presentation, where it was presented as a PS5 exclusive. Roughly a year later, Shift Up would share another trailer and a blog post, revealing the game's official title and targeting a 2023 release window.
