Pokémon TV App Removed From Digital Stores, Will End Permanently in March

Enjoy watching free Pokémon episodes and movies while you can, because the Pokémon TV app will be discontinued in March 2024.

The Pokémon Company announced in an update on the official Pokémon website today that it will sunset the free Pokémon TV app and website towards the end of March, ending the free streaming service. It went a step further and removed the Pokémon TV app from digital storefronts, including the Nintendo eShop, Google Play, and the App Store.

“Thank you to all our fans who have enjoyed Pokémon TV over the years,” the company said. “The Pokémon TV app and website will sunset and the service will end on March 28, 2024. Beginning on January 8, 2024, fans will no longer be able to download the Pokémon TV app from the App Store, Google Play, Roku Channel Store, Amazon Appstore, Nintendo eShop, and Pokemon.com.”

Those who already downloaded the Pokémon TV app on their devices before January 8 can continue to watch their favorite Pokémon episodes, movies, and shorts until the service is done for good. All content can be viewed online and offline.

Pokémon TV first came out on iOS in 2013, allowing fans to view more than 50 episodes from the animated series on the go. In the years that followed its library expanded to include more episodes from the anime, movies, and even Pokémon World tournaments.

The Pokémon Company gave a list of places where people can still access Pokémon content, though the lion’s share of them are streaming services that include Netflix (Pokémon Concierge is amazing, by the way), Hulu, Prime Video, and Roku. Others require you to purchase or rent seasons in bulk, such asAmazon, Google Play, iTunes, and YouTube. Mini-series like Pokémon: Twilight Wings and Pokémon: Paldean Winds are free to watch on YouTube.
