Amazon Has Delayed Its Metroid Prime Remastered Preorders, It's Also Sold Out Everywhere Else

Metroid Prime Remastered was originally shadow-dropped during the recent Nintendo Direct on February 8 as a digital-only download, but we also got confirmation that a physical edition would be coming on February 22 in the US, or March 3 in other markets like the UK and Japan.

Release day has come and gone, but some fans are reporting that their preorder hasn't arrived or has even been delayed to as late as April. This issue mostly seems to be restricted to Amazon, with many preorders delayed to March 27, or even in some cases April 3.

Fans who checked their orders were quick to pick up on this, taking to Reddit, forums like ResetEra, and even the replies to our IGN Deals team on Twitter to express concern about the delay.

Physical preorders for Metroid Prime Remastered are also currently sold out everywhere else including Best Buy, GameStop, Target, Walmart and the Nintendo Store.

This means if buyers did choose to preorder with Amazon, they will now find themselves hard-to-come-by any other physical copies of the new Switch game.

To play the remaster, fans will currently have to resort to buying the digital copy, a reality which isn't ideal for many collectors, or chancing availability at their local store. IGN has reached out to Amazon for comment on the delays.
