The Witcher 3 Next-Gen Includes a Wild Easter Egg Relating to Cyberpunk 2077's Biggest Mystery

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt's next-gen update includes a bizarre Easter Egg relating to Cyberpunk 2077's biggest mystery.

YouTuber xLetalis, who has discovered just about every other Easter Egg and secret hidden within The Witcher 3, posted a new video that outlines how to uncover the mystery and how it relates to a Cyberpunk 2077 secret that still has players scrambled more than two years after the game launched.

The mystery - known as FF:06:B5 - revolves around a complicated set of numbers that appear within Cyberpunk's Night City. This particular number kicks things off as it's found on a statue worshipped by monks, and later connects to a handful of other numbers hidden throughout the city.

CD Projekt Red has now seemingly extended the quest to The Continent, as a new inclusion in The Witcher 3 sees Geralt teleporting to mysterious ruins that host more of the strange code.

By visiting the south east of Velen, which previously hosted the Ursine Witcher Armour and not much else, players can visit three small ruins and find a switch on the walls of each. Pulling all three opens a portal atop a nearby mountain, which teleports Geralt to the top of another tower.

After dropping lower and lower, the player finds themselves in a room full of immortal spectres. Heading deeper into the ruins spawns even more, but the final room also holds two crystals that, when activated by the Aard sign, open a massive portal in the floor.

It's in this room that the symbol (above) can be found on the wall, and the letters around it, when translated, present another set of seemingly random letters: FF, VQ, BZ, KW, GB, FP, OVE, and YAR. While this might have just been a random inclusion, the symbol itself matches the one seen on the Cyberpunk 2077 statue.

CD Projekt Red's Paweł Sasko, who was quest director on Cyberpunk 2077, has also confirmed that there is actually a solution to the mystery, and that players simply haven't found it yet. Whether or not The Witcher 3 Easter Egg makes things more or less confusing, however, remains to be seen.

The next-gen update arrived on December 14, bringing a wealth of new features to the 2015 game including an upgraded combat system, brand new mission, and armour sets based on other Witcher content.

The launch hasn't been without issue, however, as many PC users have reported significant issues that CD Projekt Red is now looking into.
