Disney Lorcana: Rise of the Floodborn Adds 'Hunny Wizard' Winnie the Pooh and More

The second set of the Disney Lorcana Trading Card Game, titled Rise of the Floodborn, will release in local game stores on November 17 and mass market retailer stores on December 1. A limited-edition Disney100 Edition collection will be available at all stores on December 1. Here’s a list of what to expect from these new releases, as well as a statement from developer Ravensbuger addressing the state of the game. Ravensburger Addresses Lorcana Fan Demand Lorcana has taken the TCG world by storm since hitting shelves last month. The easy-to-learn, Magic: The Gathering-inspired gameplay has won over veteran card gamers and casual Disney fans alike. Players summon Disney characters, use familiar items, and harness the power of popular Disney songs to race to victory. We here at IGN had a positive first impression of the game and our enjoyment of the game has only grown since then. General interest in the game has also grown exponentially, but the massive demand paired with limited su...

NBA 2K24 Review

NBA 2K24 is like a frustratingly talented superstar who falls short of delivering championships, season after season. The excellent on-court gameplay bolsters significant depth with its dedication to looking, sounding, and feeling like a genuine NBA experience, but it’s sidelined by heinous microtransactions that plague many of the most popular game modes. These in-game purchases aren’t just present and optional – they are essential to compete with other players online. It’s especially frustrating because MyCareer, the focal point of many changes to this year’s iteration, has so much potential. But if it truly aimed to emulate the beauty of pro basketball, it would reward skill and effort more than open-wallet shortcuts. Despite being a little short on flashy new mechanics to boast about on the back of the box, NBA 2K24 still looks fantastic and its on-court gameplay is incrementally stronger than ever. Topping the list of additions is the new ProPLAY feature, which allowed 2K to ta...

Here's What Starfield's Solar System Looks Like Compared to the Real Thing

Bethesda’s leviathan space adventure Starfield is out in the wild, and players are busy exploring the countless planets and stars that populate the sprawling RPG. To mark its release, IGN is taking you on an orbital tour of Starfield's digital solar system, featuring every major planet around Earth's star, with a few of the choicest moons thrown in along the way. Starfield’s representation of our little corner of the Milky Way is an impressively faithful rendition of the real thing, boasting planets with realistic textures and models that feature many of the major geological characteristics observed by spacecraft like Cassini and Juno . Of course, Bethesda’s imagining of the solar system is not meant to be a carbon copy of the one we inhabit today. For example, in Starfield’s time, Earth has been transformed from the Blue Marble of the current age into a lifeless husk, with once recognizable continental landmasses rising almost indistinguishably from the dried out expanse...

Developer Explains Why Starfield NPCs Look Like They’re Dead Inside

Playing Starfield and wondering why the NPCs look like they’re dead inside? One developer reckons they’ve worked out why. Character and tech artist Delaney King took to X to post a fascinating look into the eyes of Starfield’s characters, explaining why their smiles look fake. According to King, who has worked on the likes of Dragon Age and God of War, the character smiles have an issue with the orbicularis oculi muscle not contracting, which gives a "Duchenne smile". The effect is a smile that looks fake. Rather than look genuine, this sort of smile makes it look like you’re lying or constipated. If you watch The Boys, you’ll know this sort of smile from the superb Anthony Starr, who plays Homelander. When you smile and this muscle doesn't contract, you get a "fake smile" or a "liars smile". pic.twitter.com/SPiZdstEc9 — Delaney King (@delaneykingrox) September 10, 2023 King references András Arató, the person in the Hide the Pain Harold meme....

Resident Evil 4 Remake Is $39.99 Today

This year has seen the release of a truly absurd number of excellent games. One of the first to hit shelves, all the way back in March, was a from-the-ground-up remake of the all-time classic Resident Evil 4. It’s safe to say the remake was successful, earning a 10/10 “masterpiece” rating in our review . So here’s some good news for horror game fans heading into spooky Halloween season: all console versions of RE4 Remake are on sale for $39.99 at Best Buy . Amazon has the PS4 version on sale for the same price. Resident Evil 4 Deal Capcom has been absolutely killing it with Resident Evil games in recent years. That includes original games (Resident Evil 7 and Village), but it also includes remakes of the older games from the '90s and early '00s. The remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3 were both fantastic, so it’s no surprise the development team brought the same skills when reimagining Resident Evil 4. The original RE4 landed on the Gamecube in 2005. Compared to its slower-...

Nintendo Ending Mario Kart Tour Content Add-Ons

Nintendo will no longer release new content for mobile game Mario Kart Tour starting October 4. As shared by ResetEra user Poltergust, Nintendo quietly announced the end of new content in an in-game update after a list of upcoming tours. "From October 4 on, tours will consist of content from tours that have appeared before," the post reads. "No new courses, drivers, karts, or gliders will be added following the Battle Tour starting October 4. We hope you continue to enjoy playing Mario Kart Tour." Nintendo therefore made clear this isn't the end of Mario Kart Tour, as it will continue to support the game with tour events going forward and won't shut down servers. All incoming content will have been available in the game previously, however, meaning there won't be anything new for players to experience or collect. Mario Kart Tour launched in 2019 but seemingly failed to make waves as Nintendo was reportedly underwhelmed by its mobile game ventures...

Starfield's First Weekend on Sale Sees It Surpass Skyrim on Steam

Starfield has overtaken The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim's all-time concurrent players record on Steam in its first weekend available after full launch. Data from SteamDB shows Starfield sitting in 27th place in Steam's all-time list, while Skyrim is now in 31st. Starfield hit a peak of 330,723 concurrent players on September 10, while Skyrim's record peaked 12 years ago at 287,411. The space epic fell short of developer Bethesda's previous release Fallout 4, however, which sits in 16th place overall with 472,962. While it's perhaps surprising to some that Starfield hasn't achieved a higher spot on the list, having topped six million players overall with one million concurrents on launch day , its inclusion on Xbox Game Pass has likely largely convoluted its numbers. Though it was arguably the most anticipated game in recent memory, Starfield is available at no extra cost to those with Game Pass , meaning a large number of players who'd usually buy it on S...
