Sea of Stars launches day-and-date as a PlayStation Plus Game Catalog title August 29, developer Sabotage Studio has revealed. The upcoming turn-based role-playing game inspired by the classics was already announced as coming to Xbox as a day-and-date Game Pass title, as well as PC, and Nintendo Switch. Sea of Stars tells the story of two Children of the Solstice who combine the powers of the sun and moon to perform Eclipse Magic, the only force capable of fending off the monstrous creations of the evil alchemist known as The Fleshmancer. Creator Reuben "Reubs" Ward remade Radical Entertainment’s much-loved 2003 action-adventure from scratch, figuring out how the original Grand Theft Auto 3-inspired game was coded and remaking every little detail and feature in Unreal Engine 5. In a new video published to YouTube , Reubs declared the project complete. This latest version began life a year ago after Reubs pulled an earlier version offline to avoid potential legal issues with Disney. That earlier version drew praise from Hit & Run lead designer Joe McGinn, who said at the time: "Amazing what you accomplished! Really gives a taste of what a full modern remaster could be. Baldur’s Gate 3 developer Larian employed specially trained intimacy co-ordinators to make sure actors felt comfortable during romantic scenes. In an interview with the BBC , actors Jennifer English and Devora Wilde, who play half-elf cleric Shadowheart and githyanki warrior Lae'zel respectively, praised Larian for employing the intimacy co-ordinators. "I never felt 'yuck' in a recording session at all,” said English. “And I've got quite a low 'yuck' threshold.” While intimacy co-ordinators are now commonly used in film and TV productions, Larian said it reckons it’s one of the first studios to use them during the development of a traditional video game. While 2022’s Immortality used an intimacy coordinator, that game is more an interactive film video game than a traditional video game. Remnant 2 has shot to the top of Steam’s best-sellers list ahead of its launch later today, July 25. Gunfire Games’ well-received looter-shooter soulslike currently tops Steam’s best-sellers list , which is ordered by revenue. Remnant 2 is currently beating big-hitting rivals such as Valve’s own Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Larian’s Baldur’s Gate 3 (which enjoyed a Steam chart surge of its own after a bear sex reveal ), and Bethesda’s Starfield . While the first Remnant did well enough to justify a sequel, it’s clear Remnant 2 has attracted a much larger audience across PC and console. Amnesia Developer Frictional Games Cutting Back on Horror

Amnesia: The Bunker developer Frictional Games is looking to cut back on horror games "to give greater focus on other emotional qualities". Speaking to 80.lv , Frictional creative director Thomas Grip echoed the sentiments of fellow horror studio Bloober Team, which also recently said it was stepping away from the games it was traditionally known for. "While all of our games have been horror in some way, what we really try to do is to get a kind of playable immersion," Grip said. "We want to give the player some sort of immersive fantasy, be that being a [World War 1] soldier trapped in a bunker or a robot stuck at the bottom of the ocean.
