One of the best things about The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is that you can pretty much go anywhere and do anything you want. Once you wrap up the first Great Sky Island quest and descend back into Hyrule, you're free to scurry off in any direction. Take-Two Cancels Several Unannounced Games, Quietly Delays Others

Take-Two has canceled several unannounced games and quietly delayed others amid what the publisher calls a "challenging consumer backdrop." Take-Two made the announcement during today's earnings report, saying that "the development timelines of some of our titles have lengthened, especially as we strive to redefine the creative standards of excellence in our industry, which affect our release slate for the year." Take-Two will incur a $54.2 million impairment charge in the fourth quarter "related to capitalized software development costs for unreleased and canceled console and PC titles." In May 2021, Take-Two said it was aiming to release some 62 game by 2024 across a variety of formats and platforms. GTA 6 Might Be Coming Out as Soon as Next Year

Publisher Take-Two Interactive may have just teased the release window for the next entry in the biggest gaming franchise of all time: Grand Theft Auto 6. It could be on the way as soon as next year. In a press release issued alongside its yearly earnings report, Take-Two shared projections for the coming years, including a massive projection for fiscal years 2025 and 2026. For context, fiscal 2025 will begin in April of 2024: Looking ahead, Fiscal 2025 is a highly anticipated year for our Company," the release states. "For the last several years, we have been preparing our business to release an incredibly robust pipeline of projects that we believe will take our company to even greater levels of success. Sony Announces PlayStation Showcase for Next Week

Sony has announced that an hour-long PlayStation Showcase will take place next week on May 24, focusing on games coming to the PS5 and PSVR 2. Announced in a PlayStation Blog post, the event will start at 1pm Pacific / 3pm Eastern / 9pm UK (so 9am on May 25 AEST) and run for "a bit over an hour" on PlayStation's YouTube and Twitch channels. Though it remains vague about what fans can expect, Sony does promise to showcase games in development "from top studios around the world" and offer "a glimpse at several new creations from PlayStation Studios" alongside third-party and indie partners too. Sony does have several projects in the works at its PlayStation Studios, some of which could make an appearance. One highly anticipated game is Marvel's Spider-Man 2, for example, which is expected to launch in the fairly soon fall 2023 despite Sony showing very little of the game so far.
