The Best PS5 Memes

Image
Sony has finally revealed the PS5 design and the internet has reacted accordingly. The reveal, which happened during PlayStation's Future of Gaming  event, finally showed off the PS5's design, which included a mostly white outer shell, black hardware section, and some blue lighting elements. The unconventional PS5 design quickly launched the internet into a meme frenzy. Skater XL Is Up for Preorder for PS4, Xbox One, and PC

Image
After a slight delay, Skater XL is set to release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on July 28, with a Nintendo Switch version to follow later in the year. If you're interested, you don't have to wait to secure a copy for yourself; it's already up for preorder at a number of retailers. Unlike most skating games, developer Easy Day Studios says, no tricks are pre-programmed into Skater XL. Instead, all the tricks you pull off are the result of your control inputs interacting with the game's physics. Each thumbstick controls one of your character's feet, so you'll have to twiddle them just right to pull off the tricks you want to do. The developers say this control scheme takes some getting used to, but it's fun once you get the hang of it. If you're ready to go all-in on Skater XL, you can place a preorder at a number of retailers right now. Here's where you can find it. Deathloop: New Concept Art Shows Characters, Weapons and Locations

Deathloop got a first gameplay trailer yesterday, and developer Arkane has now released a glut of concept art for the game, featuring characters, weapons and locations from the action-packed immersive sim. To celebrate its 20th birthday, Arkane previously released a free digital artbook (which you can grab by signing up to its Outsiders fan community ). Today, Arkane added a number of Deathloop concept images to that artbook. You can see them all below: [widget path="global/article/imagegallery" parameters="albumSlug=deathloop-20-concept-art-images-characters-weapons-locations&captions=true"] Aside from new posters of warring lead characters Colt and Julianna, the images give us a look at multiple areas of Blackreef Island, where both are locked in a violence-filled time loop. We also get a look at the game's '60s dystopian aesthetic, from its architecture, to its spiffy weponry, and even its musical instruments. We also see to get a name for the inhabi...

Desperados 3 Review

While the Western genre may be synonymous with lighting-fast duels and run-and-gun shootouts, Desperados 3’s real-time tactical stealth missions are best played at a meticulous crawl. Slow and steady is the order of the day in this often fiercely challenging game of covert cowboys, so it’s just as well that Desperados 3 gives you a colourful gang of outlaws with unique and complementary skills, ever-changing mission parameters that encourage experimentation, and a diverse collection of sand-swept settings to sneak through. Desperados 3 is a Western that’s just as wily as it is wild, and should be firmly in the ironsights of anyone with the appetite for a serious stealth challenge. [ignvideo url="https://www.ign.com/videos/2020/06/12/the-first-10-minutes-of-desperados-3-gameplay"] It’s entirely possible you’re not familiar with the Desperados series, considering the last instalment of the previously PC-only franchise – Desperados 2: Cooper’s Revenge – was released 14 years ag...

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Was May 2020's Top-Selling Game

After two months of being surpassed by Animal Crossing: New Horizons and then Final Fantasy VII Remake, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has once again topped the NPD charts and is the best-selling game of May 2020. As revealed by NPD Group's Mat Piscatella, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was followed by Grand Theft Auto V (yes, that game from 2013), Animal Crossing: New Horizons, NBA 2K20, and Mortal Kombat 11. May 2020 tracked spending across video game hardware, software, accessories, and game cards totaled $922 million, a 52% increase year-over-year. This is also the highest May month since 2008's $1.2 billion. PS5: Sony Boss Explains the Console's Design

PlayStation 5's unconventional design was created to look good as part of a living area in a home, says Sony Interactive Entertainment president, Jim Ryan. The curved, two-tone look of the console has become a point of debate since the PS5 design reveal yesterday. Speaking to the BBC , Ryan said: "The PlayStation sits in the living area of most homes, and we kind of felt it would be nice to provide a design that would really grace most living areas. That's what we've tried to do. And, you know, we think we've been successful in that." The idea, seemingly, is to create a console that looks as much like furniture, or an ornament as it does a piece of standard consumer electronics. Speaking separately to CNET , Ryan said that the design was purposely "bold and daring", and that the company wanted something forward facing and future facing, something for the 2020s." He also made clear that the white-and-black console is its launch design, seemingly...
